In this course, you will learn the basics of oil painting. We will explore:

• Color theory and color mixing

• Brushwork and handling techniques

• Measurements and composition

• Detailing and finishing methods

• Ways to shift your perception and conceptualize more effectively

You will try different oil-painting methods and approaches as you develop your skills.

Objectives :

• Learn the fundamental principles of oil painting

• Understand the foundations of still life painting

• Build confidence in working with oils

Structure :

This course focuses on creating still life paintings in oil to help you become familiar with the medium. You will work with:

• Alla prima (wet-on-wet) technique

• Glazing (layered) technique

• Different types of canvas surfaces

By the end of the course, participants will complete 4–6 finished paintings.

Coil and Pinch is a fundamental ceramic hand-building technique that can be applied to both functional and sculptural forms. This course focuses on creating spheres, curvilinear vessels, and geometric or zigzag forms using the coil-and-pinch method. The unique qualities, imperfections, and character of handmade objects will be embraced as an integral part of the creative process.

Learning Objectives

Through this slow, rhythmic forming process, students will learn to create dynamic, expressive forms using only a few simple tools. Participants will develop hand-built vessels using the coil-and-pinch technique while exploring a variety of shapes and silhouettes. The course will also introduce surface treatments and finishing techniques to enhance and refine the completed forms.

Ce cycle de 8 cours propose une découverte progressive et pratique de la linogravure, du dessin à l’impression. Les participant·es apprennent les bases techniques, le maniement des outils et les règles de sécurité. Nous explorerons le transfert d’images, le travail du contraste, des textures et de la composition. Le programme aborde différents formats, la planche perdue, l’impression sur papier et textile, et permettra la réalisation et la présentation de plusieurs projets personnels.
